ZINES
Ridiculous Fiction 1: Old Joe by Chris Auman [RoosterCow Press]
The Ridiculous Fiction genre was invented by Chris Auman to justify the abject silliness of the short stories he wrote in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The first issue contains the story "Old Joe" and the comic "The Sheridan Park Massacre."
"Old Joe" is a spoof of the classic Man versus Nature literary theme. Will Bill Billson become a man after a successful hunt? "The Sheridan Park Massacre" tells the tale of one rage-filled evening. The horror! Another bargain book at $5.
Walk Off Hot by Charly Fasano [Self-published]
We’ve added a bunch of back issues of Charly Fasano’s Walk Off Hot zine to the RoosterCow Store this month. Check out Issues no. 1 and no. 3-6 from the Denver-based poet, filmmaker, painter, and block printer.
Each page of Walk Off Hot is a 16x20 inch drawing created with acrylic paint pens on unstretched canvas by Fasano.
Cartooning Against Capitalism [SciencePainted]
Subtitled "A Short History of the History Book" the Cartooning Against Capitalism zine features interviews with two of the book's creators Gittan Jönsson and Annika Elmquist and reprints from the book.
